Itinerary

Day 1 Leh Arrival — Acclimatization Day +
  • Hello and Julley, Welcome to Leh — your dream trip is about to start.
  • Airport pickup and transfer to the hotel.
  • It will be an acclimatization day and you will rest, which is very important at this altitude.
  • Later in the evening, visit Leh Bazaar, Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace (or these sightseeing spots can be covered on Day 2).
  • Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 2 Leh to Sham Valley (45 Kms – 1 Hr One Way) +
  • Post a scrumptious breakfast, gear up and head out to explore the beautiful land of Leh.
  • Visit Hall of Fame and feel the pull of the Magnetic Hill.
  • Pray at Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and watch the marvelous confluence (Sangam) of the Indus and Zanskar rivers.
  • Later return to Leh, visiting Shanti Stupa en route.
  • Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 3 Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La (125 Kms – 5 Hrs) +
  • Ride up to Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world at 18,400 ft.
  • Continue to Diskit, headquarters of Nubra Valley, and visit Diskit Monastery (Diskit Gompa) — a 14th century monastery famous for its huge Maitreya Buddha statue, inaugurated by HH Dalai Lama.
  • Visit the sand dunes of Nubra Valley and enjoy a ride on the rare double-humped Bactrian camels, found only in India and Mongolia.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in camps at Hunder Village, Nubra Valley.
Day 4 Nubra to Pangong via Shyok (160 Kms – 5 Hrs) +
  • Post breakfast, take a stroll to see the lifestyle of people living in the northernmost region of India.
  • Proceed to Pangong Lake via the scenic Shyok Route.
  • Pangong Lake — a saltwater lake 120 km long and 6-7 km wide, bisected by the India-China border — offers stunning, ever-changing colors on a clear sunny day.
  • Visit the famous location from the movie "Three Idiots" and enjoy time along the banks of the lake.
  • Overnight stay in Pangong.
Day 5 Pangong to Hanle via Rezang La (200 Kms – 6 Hrs) +
  • A very early start today. Ride towards the other side of Changthang Valley to witness the second-highest optical telescope in the world.
  • After a photo session at Pangong Lake, expect long riding hours with minimal photo stops through dirt trails till Loma — the toughest stretch of the trip so far.
  • In case of a road blockage, the route may be extended by up to five additional riding hours.
  • Reach Hanle before sunset; after dinner, enjoy one of the world's best stargazing spots.
  • Overnight stay in a dormitory or homestay at this remote location — please expect no luxuries.
This is a long, remote riding day with tough dirt trails and very basic overnight stay — please come prepared and keep a mature, flexible attitude.
Day 6 Umling La Pass Day Trip — 19,024 Ft +
  • After a cold first night in the beautiful, harsh Changthang land, enjoy breakfast and set out to explore the Hanle valley.
  • A short ride ascends about 1,500 meters to the highest point of the trip at 19,024 ft.
  • Celebrate reaching the highest motorable road in the world with photos at Umling La.
  • Explore the small town of Hanle, home to around 300 residents.
  • Overnight stay at Hanle.
Day 7 Hanle to Leh (250 Kms – 6 Hrs) +
  • Post breakfast, check out from Hanle and drive back to Leh.
  • Retrace the route till Mahe Bridge, then take the scenic road along the Indus River to Leh.
  • Arrive in Leh for dinner and overnight stay; visit Rancho School (known as the "3 Idiots School"), Thiksey and Shey Monastery en route, if time permits.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.
Day 8 Departure from Leh +
  • Post breakfast, prepare for your departure.
  • Depart from the mystical land of Ladakh and take home precious memories of your wonderful trip.
